About the job

As our DTC Channels (eCommerce & Retail) Merchandise Planner Europe, you define and lead DENHAM’s buying strategy and direction for DENHAM stores (online/offline) in Europe to drive optimal assortment, offerings, and adequate inventory levels.

You will focus on the assortment with the main responsibility to generate the assortment architecture for DENHAM stores (online/offline) and create a seasonal buy plan.

Furthermore, you will build financial sales, gross margin, and inventory plans and manage markdown strategies to drive DTC sales, profit, and sell-through objectives.

You identify sales and market trends, and you show a clear understanding of our consumer base. You will be working with the office-based DTC team and report to the Head of DTC Channels (eCommerce & Retail).

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Delivering a strong assortment to consumers for each store (online/offline).
  • Optimizing collection sell-through between DTC channels and reporting on sell-through monthly to the commercial and product teams.
  • Participating in all seasonal assortment meetings from Collection Briefing to Go to Market.
  • Managing the yearly OTB.
  • Set and execute price and promotional strategies in line with achieving financial business goals for full priced stores and outlet.
  • Strategize with design and product development department to review historical performance and set future needs and goals.
  • Maintain and develop the assortment architecture based on ideal option needs by store size and product group.
  • Analyze performance and results of previous buying strategies and make tactical adjustments for increased profitability.
  • Analyze product performance on store level and stock situation. Report weekly (Weekly Reports provided by the Merchandise Allocator).
  • Full management of the MFO (made for outlet) styles, Retail specials (, Quick Strike assortments) and other brands.
  • Manage stock levels by: developing forecasts of sales and inventory and optimizing stock between DTC channels.
  • Full management of the Retail ERP XPRT (supported by the Merchandise Allocator).
  • Collaborate closely with the Merchandise Allocator.

Desired skills and experience

  • At least 5 years experience working as a Buyer or Merchandiser in a Retail environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Fashion, Finance or Merchandising preferred.
  • Very strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (high-level Excel is a must).
  • ERP system experience in XPRT, Navision, SAP is preferred, Power BI.
  • Experience of outlet environment is an advantage.
  • Able to work independently and to prioritize and multi-task.
  • A team player and real professional with pro-active attitude and positive mindset.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English. Dutch is an advantage.)
